My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

** SPECIAL NEEDS ** Iceman is a 5 year old orange tabby cat with white accents.  He was found hanging around outside with another cat we took in (Maverick).  One of the most unique characteristics about Iceman is his huge thumbs!  Iceman is what's known as polydactyl, which means he he was born with extra toes on all 4 paws!!!  Like his name, Iceman has been pretty chilly around the other cats. He seems to have a love/hate relationship with them. We feel he will be best as a solo cat for someone who just wants to give him love and attention and treats!!!!!  He wants to be where people are and often wants to sit on a lap if available.  He is very food motivated - he will put his paw on your foot while you make him his breakfast and dinner. Iceman can be sassy and will need an experienced cat owner who knows how to read his cues.  He does get a little over excited and is known to grab onto feet.  He does not usually put his nails out, but an any potential adopter needs to be aware of Iceman's behaviors.  We know Iceman will be a great cat to the right person.  Iceman was diagnosed with HCM (Hypertrophic Cardiomyopathy) with equivocal left atrial enlargement and reduced left ventricular systolic function). This means that his life expectancy may be shortened :(  It is recommended that he be on medication and to continue to have echocardiograms every 6 months to monitor his heart. Iceman is currently on 2 medications  - clopidogrel (once a day), pimobendan (twice a day).

Cats are negative for FelV/FIV, receive age-appropriate vaccines and deworming, are spayed/neutered and are microchipped (free lifetime registration with adoption).

All of our pets go home with a "Go Home Goody Bag" that includes a starter supply of food, treats, toys, and a voucher for a free month of pet insurance from Trupanion.
