My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

You can fill out an adoption application online on our official website.

Nakita was rescued with her sister but now she is confident and ready for her own forever home where she can thrive.

She is professionally trained for basic obedience like place, sit, down, heel, kennel, potty and loves being guided through agility play and fly ball.  She can tap her nose on the door handle when wants to go outside.  She is a spong and when she learns something she loves to please and show you she can do it again.  You can see her tilt her head when she receives a yes for repeating something she learned.

She would do well in a home where she is an only dog.  She accepts being near other dogs but does not necessarily want them in her space.

She wants to play with cats and enjuoys being with tweens.

Nakita will thrive in a home with a GSD experienced handler who is a sporty active person (or couple).  Someone who likes to walk and fetch in a fenced yard for her zoomies  and who will continue with her command training.

More about this rescue

We are a group of German Shepherd lovers who help homeless German Shepherds that are in dire straits and need rescue.

We rescue dogs from kill shelters or other situations where the dogs' life is in danger. We fully vet our dogs and our wonderful fosters care for our dogs until their "forever home" is found!

We are a dating service for dogs, helping potential adopters find the perfect match for their families. We will work with you tirelessly until we find the perfect fit for your family!

We make a lifetime commitment to every dog and every adopter and we are there to answer questions and help with the transition to your home.

Why do we do it? We LOVE dogs , especially German Shepherds, and it breaks our hearts that so many adoptable GSD's never make it out of shelters.

We are an all volunteer group and are always looking for new volunteers to help us in our mission to save dogs!

FOSTERS, we need YOU!!!!

We need fosters to provide a safe haven while a dog is waiting for his/her forever home! If you think you cannot foster because you couldn't let your foster dog leave, talk to us!! While many of us have adopted one or more of our fosters ( we call it Failing Fostering 101 !!!) we can tell you how wonderful it is to see your foster become a beloved addition to a new family.............and opens up a space to save another dog on death row!

If you have any questions at all about fostering please give us a shout and we are happy to answer all questions.

If you cannot foster, we always need volunteers to help host events, do fundraising and PR .

And , of course, we always need donations to pay the vets who keep our dogs healthy and the trainers who help us with doggie manners!

Donations are always welcome and very much appreciated!
