Beau would give anything to go back to a great home, where he belongs. Beau is a 5 1/2 year old Lab/Great Dane mix that was raised right, loved very much, but unfortunately, his owner became terminally ill and could no longer care for him. Beau was quite sad when he arrived and was nervous and down, and really didn't know what to make of his new situation. Since he's made new friends, that's all changed. Beau is so happy now to meet people and once he knows and trusts you, he bonds with you forever. He now enjoys going out for walks and even has lots of fun, kicking around his favorite giant orange ball! Beau is a strong guy on a leash but he's otherwise very well-behaved. He sits immediately when asked and he's gentle taking treats too. Beau is overjoyed to be with friends and his tail never stops wagging when he's out with those he's comfortable with. Beau is not a fan of other dogs and he's afraid of cats, but he'll sure love you if you just give him a chance! Email: office@ahsppz.org for an application . File#70949 3/2/24

More about this shelter
The Associated Humane Societies rescues stray and homeless animals, both domestic and wildlife, providing quality care and sanctuary until loving homes can be found. As a community-based organization, we provide low-cost veterinary care and humane education to promote responsible pet guardianship throughout New Jersey.
For over a century we have offered a haven to abused and neglected animals. Founded in 1906, AHS is the largest animal sheltering system in New Jersey, operating three shelters located in Newark, Forked River, and Tinton Falls. Our Forked River facility also includes Popcorn Park. Established in 1977, Popcorn Park is a sanctuary for abandoned, injured, ill, exploited, abused or elderly wildlife, exotic and farm animals, and birds.
The Society is a not for profit, 501(c)3 organization and we take pride in our devotion to the thousands of animals that come through our doors looking for a better life.
