My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sunray is a beautiful, sweet, shy calico boy.

He is also a rarity because only 1 in 3000 calicos are male!

Sunray was found in a ditch in May 2022 with his sister Sunshine, and taken into a shelter.
Months went by and both Sunray and Sunshine came to live a small foster home in Toronto.

The world was super scary when he took his first steps in his foster home, but in a few short weeks he blossomed into the sweetest, funniest and affectionate cat.

He loves to run around chasing felt mice, jumping up for feather wands and sprawling out on the couch with you.

He has the cutest dopiest look on his face as if he didn't get the punch line to a joke. a
To add to it, he has a totally endearing 'slow blink' that will just make you drop to your knees in awwwwww.

It took him about a week to come over for pets and now he just can't get enough of them!
He purrs super loud and flops over to have his head and back rubbed.

Sunray will always be a shy and sensitive guy, so he is looking for the forever home that loves him in his entirety and is happy to provide him with the patience he needs to blossom.

This one-in-a-million boy is oh so ready to have his first ever (and last) forever home.

Sunray would thrive in a calm adult only home without dogs.

Sunray bonds really closely to his people and loves to be with them, so a home where his family is around more would be perfect.

Sunray MUST be adopted with his sister Sunshine.

Please bear in mind that it is against Abbey Cat policy to adopt a single kitten under the age of 6 months to a home without a kitten of similar age for company.

Additional adoption info

***Please bear in mind that it is against Abbey Cat policy to adopt a single kitten under the age of 6 months to a home without a kitten of similar age for company.***

Due to an unprecedented demand (especially for kittens) we regret that we are unable to respond by phone to all of the applications we are currently receiving.

We are only able at this time to phone those applicants who have sent in an online adoption application, can provide a vet reference and their criteria matches what the particular cat or kittens' needs are.

We regret any inconvenience caused as we do our best to meet the overwhelming demand we are currently experiencing.

We want to make sure that our rescued cats and kittens go to good, loving homes so before we adopt, an adoption counselor will conduct a short pre-adoption interview to make sure that you and the cat are a good match.

More about this rescue

Abbey Cat Adoptions is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to finding permanent homes for unwanted cats and kittens throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Each year, ACA rescues cats from outdoor environments and overcrowded shelters.
Our cats live in a network of volunteer foster homes throughout the GTA until they are adopted into suitable, loving homes; we do not have a shelter.
We are not government funded and we have no paid staff; we rely exclusively on the generosity of like-minded animal lovers to fund our program.
