My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Magnus and his brother Lars were rescued from a home where they were loved but were sharing space with too many other resident cats.

They spent several days at a temporary location before being moved to their current foster home, where they’ve had a few weeks to settle in.

In the first day or two, Magnus was clearly missing someone and would cry out quite a lot, especially if left alone.

He seems to have gotten over this, however, and has developed into a very friendly, cuddly kitten.

While he’s very active during playtimes, at other times he loves nothing more than being picked up and held or finding a warm body to curl up next to.

He still seems to get a bit anxious when left by himself and may let out a few plaintive meows, but he just needs a little comforting and settles down.

In some ways, Magnus and his brother Lars are opposites – Mags is mostly grey with bits of white and Lars mostly white with bits of grey.

Mags has a deep yowl while Lars mostly emits cheeps and chirps, Mags is heavyset and strong while Lars is lithe and acrobatic.

Mags only eats wet food while Lars only eats dry food – but they get along well and have distinct personalities that complement each other perfectly.

Magnus is very easygoing and stays out of trouble. He’s been a perfect guest in his foster home, getting along well with his brother, his foster parents, kids, and guests.

Magnus and his brother Lars are very close, playing and sleeping together, and often groom one another during nap times or wrestling sessions.

Magnus might have a harder time without his brother (or another cat he gets along with well). Ideally, Magnus and Lars must be adopted together.

Additional adoption info

***Please bear in mind that it is against Abbey Cat policy to adopt a single kitten under the age of 6 months to a home without a kitten of similar age for company.***

Due to an unprecedented demand (especially for kittens) we regret that we are unable to respond by phone to all of the applications we are currently receiving.

We are only able at this time to phone those applicants who have sent in an online adoption application, can provide a vet reference and their criteria matches what the particular cat or kittens' needs are.

We regret any inconvenience caused as we do our best to meet the overwhelming demand we are currently experiencing.

We want to make sure that our rescued cats and kittens go to good, loving homes so before we adopt, an adoption counselor will conduct a short pre-adoption interview to make sure that you and the cat are a good match.

More about this rescue

Abbey Cat Adoptions is a registered Canadian charity dedicated to finding permanent homes for unwanted cats and kittens throughout the Greater Toronto Area.
Each year, ACA rescues cats from outdoor environments and overcrowded shelters.
Our cats live in a network of volunteer foster homes throughout the GTA until they are adopted into suitable, loving homes; we do not have a shelter.
We are not government funded and we have no paid staff; we rely exclusively on the generosity of like-minded animal lovers to fund our program.
