My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Fagan, after spending 61 days at the shelter, is more than ready to find his forever home. Discovered as part of a litter of pups on Cane Creek Mountain Road amidst a heavy rainstorm, he has shown resilience and an enduring spirit. Known for his friendly demeanor, loving nature, and undeniable cuteness, Fagan is a heart-stealer waiting for a chance to become part of a loving family. His journey, from being a stray to charming everyone at the shelter, is a testament to his amazing personality and the joy he brings. We invite you to visit, meet this delightful pup, and perhaps, make him the newest member of your family. Fagan is eager to offer endless affection and brighten your days with his presence. Don't miss the opportunity to provide Fagan with the safe, loving home he deserves.

Adoption fees include his neuter, microchip, vaccines, heartworm testing, and deworming. We will also start him on heartworm prevention and flea/tick medication

More about this shelter

Concern over a large, and ever increasing, population of homeless dogs and cats, instigated the opening of the Monroe County Animal Shelter.
A not-for-profit organization, Monroe County Friends of Animals help the shelter by providing volunteers, fundraising events, grant writing and more. There is always a need for more volunteers. With a small budget, donations are a welcome necessity. We have developed educational programs to promote spay/neuter and humane care of all animals.
