My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Jada!

When we heard the story of 9-year-old Jada and her bestie 12-year-old Jazzy, we had to make them Frosted Faces. The girls were found running astray, and both were microchipped. That's great, right? Sadly, it wasn't in this instance. When Long Beach Shelter contacted their family, they said they didn't want Jada and Jazzy anymore.

Well, Jada and Jazzy are now where they are very wanted! They became Frosted Faces on March 15th, and we love them! They wear matching collars, and they share a kennel where they cuddle. In the yard, they run around curiously and sniff, but always check in with each other. Jazzy does her little dog lap guarding thing, but Jada doesn't care, that's HER sassy sister! Jada weighs 48 lbs., and Jazzy weighs 10 lbs.

Happily, the day after these precious sisters arrived at FFF, they left on a two-week Frosted Fling. They earned praise for being low-maintenance sweethearts who were wonderful with their young daughter. Their Fling Mom shares:

"Jada is a great family dog. She easily adapted to the family routine. I typically crate my fosters in the beginning when I leave the house or overnight. I knew from the first afternoon that that extra step was not going to be necessary for Jada. She just seemed accustomed to living in a home and just "hanging out."

Jazzy and Jada co-exist great. Jada defers to Jazzy's commands. They had different favorite spots in our house - Jada was around people during the day, and Jazzy would find a cozy place like the dirty laundry basket or my daughter's bed.

Jada LOVES people. While she will occassionally nap in a room by herself, but she would much prefer to be by a human. She is particularly fond of my husband. Jada seemed to enjoy all of the attention showered upon her by my 8-year-old and all of the neighborhood kids. She's very gentle. And as a typical of big pittie, Jada thinks she's a lap dog.

Jade is house-trained and will animate when she has to go. She let's out a little "woof" and do a little dance. She mostly took care of business during our 3 daily walks.

Jada is an excellent napper. She likes a nice stroll around the neighborhood. She does take time to stop and smell the pee mail. Her backside is a bit stiff but that doesn't stop her going up and down the tile stairs.

Jada was great with my little dog and mostly ignored other dogs when on leash with the exception of when Jazzy was involved. Jazzy barks at people and other dogs, so Jada is a bit more alert about other animals when walking with Jazzy. Jada becomes protective and will bark at other dogs that she would otherwise ignore if not for Jazzy.

Overall, Jada is a dream grandma pitty. We loved having her!"

Jada and Jazzy hang out in our littles yard (see video.) Jada is much bigger than her friends, but she is so gentle and sweet with them! In addition to being great with other dogs, both girls passed their cat tests with flying colors!

We are looking for a loving home where Jada and Jazzy can be placed together. Please email adopt@frostedfacesfoundation.org with interest.
