My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Thumbelina!

*CALL 604-463-9511 TO ASK ABOUT MY SPECIAL ADOPTION FEE*

This sweet and spunky lady is looking for a fur-ever home to call her own. Thumbelina has stolen the hearts of our staff with her enthusiastic bum wiggles an heart as big as her smile. She is a lovely girl who loves to play as well as settle down to relax with her people. Thumbelina is a pocket-sized powerhouse of energy and enthusiasm. Whether she's racing around the yard with her favorite squeaky toy or curling up in your lap for some cuddle time, she's always eager to be by your side.

Of course, like any pup, Thumbelina has her quirks. She's still learning the ropes when it comes to manners and obedience, but with a little patience and guidance, she's sure to blossom into the perfect companion. Thumby loves treats, and is on a bit of a diet in order to get her back to a healthy weight. Thumbelina can be very overzealous in her interactions with other animals, and at times can show jealousy so she would likely do best if she was the only pet in the home. An animal kind trainer may be a great investment for a new guardian, to show this little piggy and her family how to facilitate positive interactions with other animals.

One of Thumbelina's greatest strengths is her unwavering loyalty. Once she bonds with her human, she's fiercely devoted and will do anything to make you smile. She's a firm believer that there's no problem too big that can't be solved with a wag of the tail and a loving lick. Despite her short stature, Thumbelina has a big personality that shines bright wherever she goes. With her expressive eyes and endearing antics, she has a way of capturing the hearts of everyone she meets. Whether you're out for a stroll in the park or cozying up on the couch for a movie night, Thumbelina is always the life of the party.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
