My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet JOSIE

3 year old lab mix

• Personality: Josie is a mature and well-behaved lady who listens to all commands. She appears to have had previous training- and seems like she was someone's beloved pet. During Josie’s first meeting with our Louisiana partner, Josie trotted over to say hi and didn't want to leave. Change doesn't bother her at all. ♥

• Health: up to date on her vaccines and spay, Josie is almost ready to join a new family. Many southern dogs test positive for a heartworm. This happens when a dog(or cat) are not given monthly preventative and become infected. Josie did text positive for HW, and has been successful in being treated! She will be ready to travel North in mid-April.

• Current Situation: Josie is currently in foster care in a kennel with outdoor access to an enclosed play yard. Here she’s able to interact with the other dogs and does well. She routinely interacts with the foster's grandchildren, showing no signs of being phased by their presence.

• Josie doesn't exhibit separation anxiety, and is content to lie down on the floor, happy to have a safe place to stay.

• Ideal Home: Josie will fit well into any home environment. She's adaptable and enjoys the company of people, including children. Whether it's a quiet household or a lively one, Josie will always thrive feeling loved and secure.

If you're looking for a loyal companion who's already mastered the art of being a great family dog, consider welcoming Josie into your home! Interested parties should begin their inquiries by filling out an application at NYSRR.COM, and a volunteer will be in touch.
