My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Enthusiastic Aggie loves life! He loves to greet you with hugs. Aggie is a younger pup, with alot of love to give. He met a another dog yesterday and he was very playful. Aggie is what you need to brighten your life. Head on over to acct to meet this Beaming happy boy.

Per volunteer on 4/13: Aggie walks good on a leash, he pulled at first but it subsided. He will jump up for hugs and out of excitement. He's also so playful with other dogs during his dog meet.

On 3/30 staff noted- Took Aggie out to meet potential adopter. He walked fine to the end of the big parking lot near the main play yard and then fell over unprovoked. Got right back up. Was coughing and heavy breathing also hacking up thick white mucous

on 3/25 staff noted- Aggie got out for some play time today! He was curled up on his bed when I came up to his kennel, but he jumped right up with a wiggly body when he heard me. He had soft eyes and a wagging tail, and leashed easily. When we got back to the eval room Aggie jumped up onto me, panting heavily. I saw that his eyes were bloodshot and that he was pretty stressed. I sat down on a chair and he jumped up, putting his two front paws in my lap and burying his face in the crook of my arm. He was still panting heavily and I could feel how fast his heart was beating through my legs. Poor Aggie is so stressed! I gave him some love and comfort, lots of soft pets and soft baby voice. After a few minutes he hopped down and explored the room. It seems like he might be house trained since his kennel was spotless and he did all his business in the eval room! After some sniffing his eyes appeared less bloodshot. I walked around and tried to see if some playtime would help Aggie. He was very jumpy, and could reach my face from standing on the floor! He was somewhat respectful of not mouthing, but did mouth a little. When I threw some tennis balls for him he chased them, but didn't pick them up or bring them back. I sat down on the ground and that was all Aggie wanted all along!! He climbed into my lap, pressing his head into my chest so hard his body turned into a C shape. We cuddled like that for several minutes, and his breathing seemed to slow, but was still heavy panting. Aggie seeks out comfort and reassurance from his person, and just wants to be around and be loved on by people. As soon as I tried to get up, Aggie got stressed, spinning in circles and jumping at me, trying to get back into my lap and sit me down. He's very much a velcro dog. If you're looking for a dog that is OBSESSED with you and LOVES cuddling, Aggie is your guy! All he needs to be happy is his person giving him love and attention. He's the sweetest dog, but could work on his jumping. It was so sad putting him back in kennel, all he wants is human interaction! Aggie kenneled perfect and immediately started munching on his dinner. He was not reactive at all when I removed his leash while he was eating, what a gentleman!

On 3/22 staff noted- Easy to leash. Aggie came right up to the door when the handler approached. He had a wiggling, loose body, soft eyes, and a mid level wagging tail. He was patient with leashing and hopped right out once secured. Pulls Minimally On Leash. Loose/Allows all handling. Aggie jumped up on the handler with a loose body and soft eyes, saying hello as soon as they entered the room. He was very social and sweet from the start. Aggie allowed all over handling with no issues, remaining loose. He loved attention, pets, and cuddles, and spent most of his time in my lap soaking up the love. He takes treats pretty snatchy, so open palm or tossing them works best for him. Overall he seems like a super sweet velcro dog! Engages in play. Got a bit jumpy and mouthy but could be pushed off or redirected with a toy or treats. Interest in toys but does not take possession. Aggie mouthed at some stuffies and tennis balls but never took full possession.

On 3/22 staff noted- Eval 3/22: Super sweet and cuddly. Gets jumpy and mouthy with play and is also snatchy with treats, so would do best in an adult only home, 12+

Aggie is currently eligible for rescue, foster and adoption. Head to ACCT Philly any day of the week from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m., or email foster@acctphilly.org to express interest in fostering him!
