My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Josie and Beetle came to us from an unhealthy, hoarding situation. Their condition has improved greatly but will require a very special person(s) to see out their days. We have them on special food, but they have chronic diarrhea and don't always make it in the box. Josie & Beetle are separated from the main cat room, but the shelter environment may not necessarily be helping their condition. All they want is a quiet, warm, loving place to snuggle the day away. They are both believed to be over 10 years old and have to be adopted together.

Submit Application

Even if you don't know what animal in particular, this step gets you "on the board" and ready to move forward. Refundable $50 deposit due.

2.
Visit the Facility and Find a Pet

When you visit, you may find someone else you'd rather take home. It happens a lot! We'll also get to meet you too and ask some questions.

3.
Home Check

We will run our process of checking references, landlord if needed, vet/medical history etc.

4.
Approve Application

Sign Adoption Contract

You will pay the remainder adoption fee at this point.

6.
Take the Pet Home

To adopt, visit our shelter! We do require veterinarian and personal references to adopt. All pets need to be current on vaccinations and have regular wellness vet visits.

Established in 2005, La Crescent Animal Rescue (LAR) is an all-volunteer, non-profit 501(c) 3
organization dedicated to the protection and welfare of animals in La Crescent, Minnesota. We are a committed to providing a no-kill shelter, which means we are always seeking volunteers and foster homes as well as permanent homes for our animals.
