My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Nick recently went on a Dog Day Out and here's what his DDO buddy had to say!

"I had a great time this past Sunday taking Nick out for a DDO. Nick is a hound mix that is around 4 years old. He enjoyed looking out the car window and took a little power nap while we drove. We spent most of our time at home, but we made a quick stop by The Natural Dog in High Point to grab a treat. He was very gentle and happy to see the workers there. He walks decently well on the leash but does have a tendency to lightly pull and get distracted by smells, however, it was very easy to redirect him. We then went home and took a nice walk around my property. He loved being able to explore and take in new sights and smells. After that, we went inside to play with some stuffed toys and spent some time cuddling and taking a much-needed nap in my lap.

Through my time with Nick, I found out that he loves people and adores cuddling and getting belly rubs. He is a great passenger in the car and settles down in one spot almost immediately. He likes stuffed toys that crinkle and can be very playful. He is also very food motivated and already knows how to sit. He can be a little timid and wary of some things but was able to work through his fears with encouragement. Finally, I learned that he has the cutest snore when he sleeps. Nick has been at Guilford County Animal Services since 3/20/24. If you are interested in Nick, come visit him from 12-4 every day except Tuesdays!"

As always, we strongly recommend bringing any resident dogs to the shelter for a meet and greet with potential new family members to be sure it's a good match. If bringing a dog for a meet and greet, please bring proof of up to date rabies, bordetella, and DHPP vaccines.

To meet your future pet, come to Guilford County Animal Services between 12 and 4 any day except Tuesday!
