My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Ronan is a beautiful and sweet as can be Schnauzer / Poodle mix (Schnoodle) with all the traits that make these super- smart and personality-plus dogs very popular and beloved breed mixes that are excellent companions for dog-loving families.

Ronan is a very sweet little guy whose first couple of years were spent in a commercial breeding facility. He was rescued due to his excellent temperament and is now searching for a patient and loving home that will show him kindness and that the world is a loving place.

Farfel's feels it's very important that Ronan participate in virtual or in-person positive reinforcement / force-free training classes to build his confidence and teach him the skills to go out in the world with great behavior. Positive training is also one of the most important elements in a family successfully bonding with their new family dog.

Ronan loves the company of other like-sized dogs and enjoys playtime and fun with his canine friends. Due to his background, Ronan is initially nervous when meeting humans, but with kindness, love and patience, this little guy comes around to be a full-time best friend.

Farfel's would like to see Ronan in a home with a safe fenced yard where he can run and play with his best friends. Ronan doesn't have leash skills at this point but with training, patience and another canine companion to show him the ropes, he will develop the skills to enjoy his leash walks.

Ronan's foster has shared that this sweet Schnoodle is coming around more and more each day. He allows petting and closeness that he hadn't previously. While he still has a ways to go, this little guy is happy, playful and loving his new life.

Ronan's foster mom also shared that he is good in a crate. She said that it provides him a safe place that has been fixed up with a cushy crate mat, toys and water. She gives Rowan a kong frozen with toddler baby food to teach him that a crate is a safe and positive place to be.

Rowan, at between two and three years old, is just naturally a lover who has had a very sad life. But when he looks at you with those dark, expressive eyes and sweet smile, your heart just has to melt.

Rowan is a snuggler at heart! He wants so much to cuddle but it takes a bit of time for him to feel safe enough to dog so. This tiny guy loves his foster mom so much and after some time with her, he's asking for pets and loving.

Rowan will have so much fun exploring, and ultimately taking long walks along Colorado's gorgeous paths and trails. His previous life had been about darkness and confinement, but now that he's in a foster home with a loving and involved family, every day is an adventure filled with new experiences and relationships...and this little guy is having the time of his life!

Ronan's rescuer mom had the following to say about this sweet guy: Ronan is a dream dog waiting to happen as so much love and kindness lives inside of him! We would love to see him in a home with a quiet and patient family that understands that with time, this little dog will blossom into an amazing family dog. Dog-crazy retirees who have the time and love for a very sweet pup would be perfect for our sweet guy. We'd hate to see Ronan left alone all day while his family works full-time outside of the home. He seems too sensitive for that type of arrangement. Ronan will thrive with spending the days near his people...getting treats and hugs periodically throughout the day is a dream come true for our sweet pup.

Farfel's would like to see Ronan in a home where he'll get consistent stimulation, exercise and tons of loving hugs. A virtual or in-person positive reinforcement training class promotes great behavior, bonding and confidence for a young guy whose self-esteem will fly high while he masters his skills. Training is so important to the future behaviors of every dog that we're unwilling to adopt Ronan out to a family that doesn't make this loving choice. Farfel's is happy to provide a list of both in-person and virtual positive reinforcement / force- free trainers in your area.

Ronan breeds support that he's a non-shedding guy (perfect for those with allergy concerns). He will therefore require a lifelong commitment to periodic grooming (approximately every 8 - 10 weeks) and excellent nutrition (5 star food and a daily salmon oil supplement are great lifelong protocols for coat care and general health) to keep his coat cottony-soft, matte-free and shining with great health.

Ronan has been fully vetted, vaccinated and neutered. These protocols support Farfel's adherence to adopting out only healthy dogs that won't contribute to the overpopulation crisis within the canine community.

Ronan is scheduled to arrive on transport in Boulder on Friday 4/12//2024...if this should change, we'll update with new information. Applications are currently being accepted for this very sweet, loving and loyal best friend. An application can be found at http://farfels.com/farfels-rescue/adoption-form/. If interested, please fill out completely and submit.

**PLEASE NOTE** If you're truly interested in adopting Ronan please be sure to fill out our Farfel's Rescue adoption application found at the link above or at farfels.com. Adoption site applications such as Petfinder and Adoptapet don't provide enough information and therefore aren't useful. Our Farfel's application is the only initial tool that we have to determine a great match for this very deserving dog. We're sorry, but in most cases, we're unable to get back to those that don't submit our Farfel's Rescue adoption application. Thanks very much for choosing rescue.
