My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hi there, I'm Chanel! Let me fill you in on my adventurous life... I ended up in a place no animal would ever want to be the streets. I was just wondering around and was picked up and brought in where i could be safe and loved but that didn't last long. There facility was filling up fast and they were running out of room and they were going to euthanize me so they reached out to another rescue to pick me up and save me. They also ran out of room so the people from Suncoast with open arm took me in and have been loving me but I need a forever home with a forever family.

More about this shelter

Founded in 1971 as the Animal Aid Society of Englewood, Suncoast Humane Society began with a few cages where people left stray animals to be cared for. Over the years, our service area has grown to include over 400 square miles, covering three counties: Sarasota, Charlotte and portions of Lee.
Suncoast Humane Society provides a safe refuge for thousands of lost, abandoned and abused animals from our service area each year. We are committed to our open-door policy of never turning any animal away, regardless of health, temperament, breed or circumstances.
