My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Mindy, the enchanting Abyssinian guinea pig with a coat as dark and rich as chocolate! With her velvety black-brown fur and captivating personality, Mindy is sure to capture the hearts of all who meet her.

Mindy's sleek coat is adorned with the distinctive rosettes and swirls characteristic of the Abyssinian breed, adding an extra touch of allure to her already striking appearance. Her warm, expressive eyes radiate intelligence and curiosity, hinting at the playful spirit that lies within.

As Mindy continues to grow more comfortable with human interaction and being held, she's also teaching those around her about the power of patience and compassion. The shelter staff is dedicated to providing Mindy with the love, care, and support she needs to thrive. Through gentle encouragement and positive reinforcement, they're helping Mindy overcome any lingering fears or hesitations, paving the way for her to experience the joy of companionship in a loving home.

While little Mindy continues her journey at the shelter, she eagerly awaits the day when she can share her newfound love and trust with a forever family of her own. With each passing day, she grows more confident and ready to embark on the next chapter of her life, bringing joy and companionship wherever she goes.

More about this shelter

Animals Are Our Mission

Over 1,100 animals pass through our doors every year. Did you know that the average cost to get our animals ready to be adoptable is roughly $350 per animal? That is because we require our adoptables to be spayed/neutered and fully vaccinated before adopting out.

Population control and disease management are issues in our community that we are working hard to resolve. Your donations help ensure we can continue our mission.

We have an amazing team of hard working staff caring for our animals 7 days a week. They are supported by a group of engaged board members that are focused on bettering our organization.
