He eagerly greets most people with excitement and happiness, his tail wagging in anticipation of making new friends. His affable nature makes him a beloved presence among shelter visitors and staff alike. Duramax's interactions with other dogs and animals mirror his interactions with humans. With a loose and wiggly demeanor, he welcomes the company of his fellow furry friends with open arms. In his kennel, Duramax is mostly relaxed. However, he can be selective with people, preferring those with whom he is familiar or to whom he is properly introduced. While he may need some time to warm up to unfamiliar faces, once he feels comfortable, he's quick to show his affectionate side

As an open admission facility, the Center provides animal services and care for any animal in the city of Chattanooga regardless of age, breed, health, and temperament. McKamey has a number of thriving programs to benefit companion animals and people including adoption, foster, rescue, trap-neuter-return for feral cats, and humane education.
