Seraphin von Selk is a gorgeous, 2-year-old German Shepherd. Not only is he stunning to look at, but he is also a wizard when it comes to responding to commands. Our handsome hunk walks well on leash, even in a pack of 6 other dogs. He mostly favors female dogs or easygoing male dogs -- he's somewhat particular so managed introductions are a must. With people Seraphin is a lover boy, eager to learn and treat-motivated. He is housebroken and did well indoors and in the yard at his prior home, which he lost due to the people moving. He needs a cat-free home with an owner who is committed to continue training this guy to become his very best. Come introduce yourself to Seraphin today!
IF YOU ARE INTERESTED IN Seraphin von Selk YOU MUST FILL OUT AN ADOPTION APPLICATION ON OUR WEBSITE: www.sheprescue.org
Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

In order to adopt any dog from Westside German Shepherd Rescue, one must fill out an adoption application first. Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
ADOPTION DAYS

If you have submitted an online application but have not been approved by our volunteer, please do NOT come down to meet dogs as we won't be able to show you any. No on-site screening at this time. Once approved and told to come meet dogs, we will be happy to help you.
