Meet cutie-pie, Calvin Calhound! He’s a 2 1/2 year old hound mix weighing around 50 pounds. He was found as a stray in rural SEMO and brought into rescue. Unfortunately, Calvin had been shot and needed his front leg amputated, but that doesn’t slow him down. He’s a happy-go-lucky guy who enjoys snuggling his humans. We feel Calvin would do best in a home with older children since he is a tripod. He does fine with his foster dog siblings, but could easily be an only dog. Calvin has not been cat tested. He is neutered, microchipped, vaccinated and on preventatives. Calvin is crate trained, rides great in the car, is treat motivated and learning how to play with toys. He will need an adopter who will continue to work on his manners and one who has a fenced yard. If you would like to be considered for adoption please fill out an application at actnowrescue.net

More about this rescue
ACT Now! Rescue is an all volunteer, not-for-profit 501(c)(3) no kill dog rescue and animal welfare organization serving St. Louis County, Jefferson County, St. Charles, Warren and Franklin County in Missouri. We operate through a foster network and work with local shelters, as well as take in stray and abandoned animals. As an organization, we strongly oppose puppy mills and breeding programs and emphasize education and a vigorous spay/neuter program in order to reduce problems of overpopulation.
We started full operations in September 2006. There are many exciting opportunities to join the group and help further the causes of dog and cat welfare in this region. We are currently looking for generous people willing to share their homes and serve as foster parents for the animals we take in as well as volunteers to serve is almost every other area of the operation.
