My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

NOTE: Thelma and Louise are bonded and must be adopted together.

Meet the heroines of Central Florida - Thelma and Louise! These two little ladies survived a very sad hoarding situation where they were the only survivors. Even their mom passed away... Yet they have recovered remarkably well!

Thelma and Louise are a bonded pair. Mom Thelma is 13yo and daughter Louise is 11yo. And both are tiny at only 5 lbs. They are the sweetest little chihuahuas you will ever meet! No chihuahua attitude here - they love meeting new people, they are good with dogs of all sizes. They even enjoy the company of kitties.
Both are spayed and have recently had dental surgery.  Their blood work is good and will need to be rechecked regularly just to make sure everything stays good.

Thelma is the more reserved of the two. Lil Louise tends to be the dominant one and will bark if someone is at the door and will let her foster mom know when it is time for dinner. Meal time can be challenging only because they can only eat a little at a time, they often will take a break and come back for more. This is one reason why it would be best for their new forever home to have one or two adults who are retired with free time so that their schedule allows more time for feeding, walking and just being with them. When they get excited about our food they do the cutest circle dances!

Thelma likes to cuddle on your lap when watching TV- Louise will sit next to you and be the lookout.

Bedtime is in a little playpen with two beds, some pee pads and water. Even though there are two beds they usually cuddle next to each other. They are taken outside first thing every morning and they always pee and poop. They go potty outside but they are also pee pad trained. They also love sunning themselves.

They love going for a walks in their stroller; a stroller is recommended due to their small size and Thelma has some arthritis in her rear legs, although she seems to move very well and appears not to be painful.

We are requiring a small, secure fenced-in yard for them. They will always need supervision when outside. They will be adopted to an all-adult home only with no visiting small children. If there are other dogs in the home, they must be calm and preferably on the smaller side. If you live in the Central Florida area and believe you will be a perfect match for Thelma and Louise, please complete an app and tell us more about your family.
