My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Please check here for updated adoption hours.

I have lived with cats.

I am a sweet, social, older gal, looking for the perfect forever home!

I have medical needs that staff will address with you when you meet me.

I would appreciate slow introductions to new people and places to help me feel safe.

I'm sensitive and shy. I'll need extra help from you.

I am looking for a home with a patient person.

What my friends at ACC say about me:

Anna tolerates attention and petting but appears to be only slightly fearful or stressed in the shelter. She will likely need time to warm up to her new home. We recommend that he go to a home with some cat experience preferred or at least be well counseled in fearful cat behavior. Due to the behavior shown, she may not be a great fit for young children. Any home with older children prepared to adopt this cat should conduct a thorough interaction and endeavor to monitor this cat around their children to prevent these behaviors from being reinforced.

A volunteer writes: A note on Anna's condo explains that treats are totally her thing, but what I learned is that Anna is one to surprise us with her skills, interest, and love. When I first met Anna, she wasn't so sure about pets and cuddles, but she's a multifaceted lady with a whole lot to share. It's true that first impressions may not be her strongest suit at the Care Center, but please give her a second to collect her thoughts because she really does want to say hello. Anna lived with other cats in her previous home and so it's very likely she's not really loving the Care Center with all of its daily comings and goings. When I first met Anna, she was sleeping in her cubby and really didn't seem very interested in me. I offered my hand to sniff and while she seemed a little unsure, gave a quick little nuzzle. I took this as our opening and after some pets, I shared a toy, which was just the thing to do because Anna loves to play. This is where she truly shines, but we know she will shine even brighter in her forever home!
