Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Matisse von Marseille is a two year old Poodle. He is so delightful, loving, trained, knows lots of commands, very house trained, lets you know when he needs to go out. Loves to snuggle, very quiet, easy to walk. Matisse loves to play ball. Great with dogs large and small. Also great in the car, he is a pretty perfect dog! Matisse’s owners lost their house, they moved away and left everything behind even Matisse. He was in an empty house for 5 days, until the real estate agent found him. He luckily made his way to Westside when he had no where to go! We are so happy we got to help such an amazing dog! Please share with any friends or family looking for a Poodle!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.
