This lovely girl was abandoned in a cat carrier at a softball field; fortunately, OCAS picked her up and from there she was transferred to us. Upon arrival in foster care she was, understandably, frightened and out of sorts and expressed her concern by thumping repeatedly (bunnies thump on the ground with their hind feet to let other bunnies know that there is danger nearby.) Her foster mom suggested naming her Thumper - but this name is already taken by a famous Orlando bunny resident! As her continued thumping was booming throughout the house and frightening the resident cats, it was decided to name her Boom Boom.
Boom Boom is a spotted beauty with big brown eyes, expressive ears, and a very fetching dewlap. Her dewlap indicates that she is probably an adult rabbit rather than a baby. Unfortunately, when we rescue bunnies like her we don't know the backstory - but that's okay because her new life begins today! Boom Boom is not only beautiful but she is comical as well, and her personality is as big as her thunderous thumps. She is a goofy little girl who will make you laugh as she zooms, binkies and explores. We have found that she is very fastidious about her feet: She does not like litter to touch her feet, so she prefers a special littler box that has a plastic grate in place to keep her paws perfect, just like her. This sweet bun is ready for her forever family to find her and take her home.
We adopt to indoor homes only! If you are interested in adopting a bunny from Orlando Rabbit Care and Adoptions, or would like more information on rabbit care, please visit our website at: http://www.orlandorabbit.org. The first step in our adoption process is to complete an adoption application, which can be found here: https://petstablished.com/adoption_form/55856/generic . Then one of our volunteers will reach out to you via email to schedule a time to speak with you. If you don’t see the email in a day or two, please check your spam folder!
Our Adoption Fee/Donation for a single rabbit is $100, a pair is $170, and a triple is $200. This helps to offset the cost of having the rabbits altered, microchipped and vaccinated, as well as any medical care that may have been required.
