My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Good day folks! Arrow here. Just like my name, I aim to be pointed in the direction of my furever home. I came in as a stray and
Moonsong rescued me in the nick of time. As you can see, I am one big handsome dude! My personality has been revealing that I am a cautious sweet boy who just needs someone to help show me the ropes. Slow introductions to hoomanes is a must. It helps me get to know you on my terms. There is no doubt that If you’re calm and patient with me, I will eventually become your best furry friend. Lately, I have been learning leash walking skills. I thoroughly enjoy my walk-about’s and I am good about not pulling. I even passed by some chickens without even missing a beat! One thing that really motivates me is treats! I will sit nicely and even take the treat with a soft mouth.

It may be that in my previous life, I didn’t get a lot of exposure being around other pups. Big male dogs are a bit intimidating to me. Although I am learning that the ladies can be my friends. A large, friendly, confident female would suit me best. Or, being the only doggo in the home would work well for me too.

My dream home would be having hoomanes committed to helping me flourish to my true potential and help me find out that the big o’l world out there is safe place.

More about this rescue

We're glad you stopped by to check out our Mallies in need of their "furever" homes! We are federally recognized non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to assisting Alaskan Malamutes and their owners when in crisis throughout the Intermountain West. Please be aware that Moonsong Malamute Rescue (MMR) is not a shelter or humane society. We are affiliated with the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL), which is the national rescue organization recognized by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. As an affiliate to AMAL, MMR operates under AMAL's code of ethics.

We offer educational material about the Alaskan Malamute breed, can assist in resolving containment issues, are able to help an owner with appropriately re-homing their Malamute when necessary, and provide behavioral issues support in the form of referrals to trainers and other more experienced Malamute owners. These funds are also used to help care for Malamutes with adoptable personalities who have been pulled from shelters, or who have been seized by authorities after having been abandoned, neglected, or abused.
