Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Check out my stunning looks! My name is Poppy and I’ve so happy to have been rescued by Moonsong. I was picked up as stray and can be shy when you first meet me. Once I get comfortable with you, I’ll cautiously approach you for pets, just be patient and I’ll come to you. I am a gentle lady that loves to play with other dogs. Initially I’ll act aloof when I meet new dogs and after a little hanging out together, I love to play!
Toys are not my thing, between me and woo, I’m not sure what to do with them. Once I get over my shyness, I am treat motivated. I have been around children, but due to my shy nature older kids would be better for me. My foster home has 3 other dogs that I’ve been introduced to; I like all of them, but there’s a little dog, I think she’s a husky, that has been snarky with me a couple of times. She’s learning that I am a lover and not a fighter, but I will hold my own if needed.
When I was at the shelter, I met a small furry animal, I think it was called “a cat”. I sniffed the furry thing but didn’t show any interest. Know what that means? I’d likely be okay living with one of these furry creatures.
Please reach out to my person for more information or better yet, complete an adoption application and bring me home!
Available for Adoption in Idaho, Wyoming, Montana, Utah & Northern Nevada

More about this rescue
We're glad you stopped by to check out our Mallies in need of their "furever" homes! We are federally recognized non-profit organization of volunteers dedicated to assisting Alaskan Malamutes and their owners when in crisis throughout the Intermountain West. Please be aware that Moonsong Malamute Rescue (MMR) is not a shelter or humane society. We are affiliated with the Alaskan Malamute Assistance League (AMAL), which is the national rescue organization recognized by the Alaskan Malamute Club of America. As an affiliate to AMAL, MMR operates under AMAL's code of ethics.
We offer educational material about the Alaskan Malamute breed, can assist in resolving containment issues, are able to help an owner with appropriately re-homing their Malamute when necessary, and provide behavioral issues support in the form of referrals to trainers and other more experienced Malamute owners. These funds are also used to help care for Malamutes with adoptable personalities who have been pulled from shelters, or who have been seized by authorities after having been abandoned, neglected, or abused.
