My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Maria is a rambunctious female budgie with a lot of attitude. She chirps and squawks a lot and is constantly trying to escape her cage. She came to us caged with a cockatiel, but as tends to be with their very different personalities, Maria was not often willing to share food with her cage mate so we separated them and she doesn’t seem to mind. Maria spends most of her day trying to open the food doors on her cage to get near another budgie in the home. We think she would thrive in an all female flock with other budgies, and with a family not worried about having to latch food doors closed. Maria is slowly working on a better diet, relearning how to fly with time out of the cage, and enjoys the steam from the shower more than direct water sprays. Can you keep up with this feisty lady? We will review your application, and perform a background check, vet check and when applicable, a landlord check.

For most species, a meeting is required. For some species, multiple meetings may be needed or required.

Sign Adoption Contract

Once approved, sign the adoption contract and pay the adoption fee.

Take the Pet Home

Whether interested in adopting a particular bird or not, you will need to fill out an Adoption Application, which can be found on our website. From there, our adoption team will process your application (including background check, veterinarian check for all current animals, and a home visit)
We will not ship any of our adoptable birds, and have a 100-mile adoption radius. We do not adopt to breeders. We are not able to adopt birds into homes that use Teflon product or smoke due to toxicity dangers.
