My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Darby Sue is an active girl who would love some adventurous humans. We think she may have a significant amount of Boxer in her mix. What we know for sure is that she's a sweet girl who is very smart and learns quickly. Darby likes treats, toys, and when she finally has enough playtime, she also likes cuddling. We think she'd love kids as much as she loves adults, but would probably do best with kids 10+ because of her size and energy level. She has met with our trainer and will soon be starting weekly group training sessions. We're not exactly sure how old Darby is, but probably somewhere between 3-5 years old. She has already been spayed and vaccinated, and will be microchipped soon. If you're interested in adopting, please submit an application and we'll be back in touch as soon as possible. Darby's adoption fee has been FULLY SPONSORED by a generous donor. A meet with any approved applicant's current pets would be required before starting the 2-week adoption trial period. Please visit our website savedbyfate.org to learn more about this amazing pet and to see other available dogs and cats.

Additional adoption info

SBF adoptions start off with a 2-week trial period to ensure that the SBF dog is a good fit for your family and current pets. The adoption fee is due the day an adopter starts the 2-week trial period. If the adoption does not work out within those two weeks, the adopter will be refunded all but a $50 donation, or they can put the fee towards another adoptable dog.

More about this rescue

Saved by Fate is a dog rescue organization in Central Kentucky that specializes in pulling dogs at high risk of euthanasia from Kentucky shelters. SBF was founded by Mara DeLaus and Ciara Hagedorn in 2022. After years of volunteering for a fellow organization, they saw a significant need for additional rescue resources in their area. SBF is an entirely foster and volunteer based organization that does not have a physical location or kennel at this time.
