My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Pogue is a 2.5 yr-ish Poodle (75%) Shih Tzu (25%). He is a wonderful snuggly boy that is looking for a home where he can thrive with lots of structure, exercise, attention and snuggles. Pogue has been in his home for about a yr and a half. He was originally adopted by his family after he was found around Pogues Run Creek and his finders could not keep him. About 8 months ago a new baby arrived and he has been having some issues with marking on his new baby human brothers things. Pogue will need a fresh start with lots of structure and support re-housetraining. Pogue is currently not crate trained and will bark but does fine when left alone outside the crate. No chewing or destructive issues (other than some initial barking). Because of that it would be best that Pogues lives in a home rather than an apartment. Along with some training and adjustment, he will need regular grooming. Pogue is neutered and up to date on all his vetting.

He will be staying with his current family until we find Pogue the right committed home. Here is what they wanted to share about him: He is very friendly - loves cuddling. He may bark at newcomers at the house but hasn’t ever bitten. For the past 8 months he has been marking on baby’s toys and rockers. Attempts have been made to try and train and incentivize him not to do this but without success. Pogue loves to play with toys especially cotton rope toys, Tug o’ wars are super fun! He loves long walks and his behavior is usually much improved once he is tired out. He is currently living with and gets along well with an older dog and has a peace treaty with two cats in the home.

If you are interested in Pogue please complete his adoption application. We cant wait for his new beginning.
