My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Hello New York… and surrounding areas… My name is Buster and I am a handsome white scruffy Terrier mix, about 6 years old, 25 lbs, and I was originally rescued from a dog pound in Staten Island when I was just a youngster. I lived a good life with my owner but unfortunately, she became ill and passed away just before Thanksgiving. I have been staying in a foster home since then, readjusting and doing well, so now I am ready to move on and find a new forever home.

I’m a people dog, happy and friendly, shy when first meeting, but once I know you I’m good to go. I am indifferent towards other dogs and enjoy being solo in my home and playing by myself or with my people. Tug-o-war is my favorite but I also love to play fetch and I enjoy having unstuffed soft toys to play with, unless you don’t mind me taking the stuffing out myself. I love little dog treats and string cheese in the afternoons after my walk and right now I’m going for walks twice a day and I love it. I love cuddles and pets and sitting beside you while we watch TV. I don't mind being groomed and will sit patiently while being brushed and having my ears cleaned. I’m just a good boy and my foster parents say I have good manners, never begging for food or stealing yours if you leave it out. I’m housebroken, only bark to alert, and don't dig in the yard, or chew inappropriately. I don't suffer from separation anxiety while you are away, although I am mighty happy and wagging so hard my entire body wiggles when you get home and walk through the door. I like going for rides in the car with the window down just enough for me to smell the world going by and sleeping in bed with my people. I am looking forward to a new beginning in a home I can call my own, providing love, companionship, and a bit of security when I bark to tell you a stranger is at the door. I’m already residing in your neck of the woods so let's meet and get this party started!
