Here's what the humans have to say about me:
Hey there, pals! The name's Chex, and I'm here to steal your hearts faster than you can say "fetch!" 🐾
So, picture this: I'm a 5-month-old dude, a bit of a mystery mutt, but hey, let's go with German Shorthaired Pointer mix 'cause that sounds fancy, right? I strutted my stuff into this shelter as a stray, but no one came to claim me. Oh well, their loss, 'cause now I'm ready to find my forever home!
Let me tell you, I'm all about the love. I live for those ear rubs – seriously, they're like magic. Rub 'em just right, and you'll hear me groan with pure puppy bliss. And lap time? Count me in! I'm a total lap dog wannabe, just itching to snuggle up and soak in all the love.
Now, I might seem a tad reserved at first, but give me some TLC, and I'll bloom like a flower in springtime. I'm just waiting for that special someone to shower me with affection and help me come out of my shell.
Oh, and about my name? Well, let's just say it's as charming as it is delicious! Who wouldn't want a pup named after a tasty breakfast cereal? It's a conversation starter, that's for sure!
So, what do you say? Ready to make some magic happen? Give the shelter a ring at 775-623-6403, and let's set up a meet and greet! I promise, you won't regret it. 🐶✨

More about this shelter
We have a small, rural, government-run Animal Control facility dedicated solely to dogs. This entails accepting both owner surrenders and stray animals found on the streets. Our team consists of four dedicated individuals: two full-time Animal Control Officers, one part-time Kennel Tech, and one part-time Animal Care Assistant. We have limited office staff, and our presence in the office may be intermittent. For the most reliable communication, please reach out by phone. While we do not have a voicemail system, calls will be forwarded to our dispatch center where you can leave a message. Additionally, all transactions are by appointment only.
