My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

If you would like more information about Lady Bird or are interested in adopting her, please send an email to melissabirbeck@gmail.com

Sweet Lady Bird was found running along the side streets of highway 290 at the end of March. She was very skinny and exhausted. She was so tired from running that I was able to get her into a parking lot where she laid down and looked up at me with big sad eyes. I picked her up (she did not fight me at all) and took her home.

The next day, Lady Bird was checked for a microchip, and we searched in the neighborhood where she was found, but there was no owner. The vet stated that she was around 1-1/2 years old.

Lady Bird is the most gentle and sweetest dog I have been around. She loves attention and is just happy to sit next to someone who will give her some pats. She is mild mannered and friendly with children. Staying with people and going on leisurely walks are her favorite things to do. She also appreciates bones and toys.

Lady Bird is currently staying in my home with 4 cats, but we have not let her run freely around them. She is interested in them but does not appear to want to harm them. She has not been aggressive at all. We have worked with her on crate training, and she is able to stay all night in her crate and during the day when we need to leave. She has had no accidents in the house.

Lady Bird is very smart and trainable. I will get her second round of shots and have her spayed before going to a forever home. I would love to keep her as she is an ideal dog, but we foster animals and try to find them loving homes so we can help more animals in need.
