My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Grey Wind was brought in by his previous owner on March 29, 2024.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Grey Wind is a spirited boy who's bursting with affection and loves playtime. He adores attention and revels in gentle cuddles, making him a great companion dog. With boundless energy, Grey Wind will thrive in an active household and eagerly join his humans on walks, hikes, and other adventures. He'll also need plenty of mental stimulation when he's inside with dog puzzles and long-lasting chews. While he has successfully coexisted with a cat before, he shouldn't live in a multi-dog household. Additionally, any children must be 5+ years old. Because Grey Wind can be uncomfortable with handling and restraint, we recommend positive reinforcement training to help him behave better at the vet and the like. Luckily, Grey Wind has great enthusiasm for treats, which will help him learn manners! If you're ready to open your home and your heart to Grey Wind's irresistible charm, be sure to bring a leash and collar when you come to meet him - you may just fall in love!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
