My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

How this pet arrived:
Stewie was brought in by his previous owner on December 29, 2023.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Stewie, a once timid soul who has blossomed into a vibrant and energetic companion. This active pup is always up for an adventure, whether it's a long walk or a spirited play session. While he may be a bit jumpy, Stewie thrives in an environment where positive reinforcement training is provided by everyone in the household. Because of this, he would do best in a home without young kids. Stewie has shown compatibility with other dogs, particularly those who share his zest for life. Stewie enjoys attention but also values his independence, preferring gentle petting over warm hugs. To keep him at his happiest, Stewie will benefit from mental and physical enrichment activities that challenge his clever mind and tire out his agile body. If you're ready to welcome a dynamic canine companion into your life, Stewie is eager to join your family and become the best dog he can be! Ask about adopting today!

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
