Rafiki came to us from animal control after he was found roaming around. Despite his initial shyness, he's ready to find a loving home where he can share his affection. Rafiki is a sweet and affectionate dog who may be a bit shy when first meeting new people or in new environments. However, he warms up quickly once he feels safe and comfortable. He has a gentle nature and enjoys cuddling up with his favorite humans. Rafiki is eager to shower his adopters with all the love and affection he has to give. Overall, Rafiki is a wonderful companion who is ready to bring joy and love to his forever family. With patience, understanding, and lots of cuddles, Rafiki will surely become a cherished member of the household.

HHHS has been a permanent part of the Topeka community since its founding May 4, 1938. The organization is incorporated as a not-for-profit 501(c)(3) business for the purpose of sheltering companion animals in need of care, advocating for anti-cruelty protection of animals and promoting humane education and animal welfare issues. HHHS fosters the adoption of companion animals into responsible homes and reunites lost animals with their owners; promotes sterilization of animals to help reduce overpopulation; provides a facility accessible to the general public; serves the community with educational programs addressing animal welfare issues; and maintains a fiscally responsible organization.
