How this pet arrived:
Spunky was brought in by Humane Law Enforcement on August 27, 2023.

Why this pet is the one for you:
Meet Spunky, a cat with a unique charm and a background filled with feline companionship. Coming from a household with several other cats, Spunky is more accustomed to the company of her kitty counterparts than that of humans. While she hasn't fully revealed her true personality in her the shelter, we hope that with time and the right setting, Spunky will truly shine. An ideal cat for a tranquil home without young children, Spunky is on the lookout for a space where she can form connections with another cat or two, learning the ropes of her new home with the guidance of her feline friends. She may take longer than your average cat to feel comfortable, but your patience and TLC will be greatly appreciated! If you're seeking a quiet companion, consider opening your heart to Spunky and watch her bloom into the wonderful cat that she's meant to be!

Shy/Fearful Cat:  Spunky requires a virtual behavior consult, please watch THIS video to learn more about them.

More about this shelter

San Diego Humane Society, an open-admission shelter, is creating a more humane world by inspiring compassion and advancing the welfare of animals and people. Our lifesaving safety net has helped San Diego become the largest city in the U.S. to keep healthy and treatable shelter animals from being euthanized. We are a private, independent, nonprofit organization that is not affiliated with any other humane society or society for the prevention of cruelty to animals.

With campuses in El Cajon, Escondido, Oceanside, Ramona and San Diego, we provide animal services for 14 cities within San Diego County. We not only care for 50,000 animals in our communities but also share the expertise we have gained through our innovative programs with shelters nationwide so they can save more lives in their communities.

While our influence is expanding nationally, our top priority is meeting the needs of San Diego. We provide exceptional care for all animals through world-class veterinary medicine, shelter and most of all: love.
