My personality

My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

"Dogs offer one of the most stable and enduring friendship on earth." This reminds us of our dear Essie!

Precious Essie is one year old and weighs 40 pounds. She is so gentle and graceful and we love spending time with her.

Essie spent some time in the home of one of our volunteers and was a cherished guest. She especially enjoyed the company of the other dogs in the household. Essie's foster Mom says she is a real sweetheart!

Essie enjoys walks and is such a well mannered companion. She also likes to run and play in the fenced yard at the shelter.

Essie has had so much fun in play groups with her fellow shelter companions. If you have another dog, we do require a meet and greet to ensure compatibility.

Essie is very bright and obedient and should master any commands you want to teach her.

Essie is always ready for quality cuddle time and has so much to give the family lucky enough to take her home!

More about this shelter

Cheatham County Animal Control is committed to finding good homes for the animals that come into the shelter system. We work with rescues and adopters. We are a no kill shelter but we rely on people coming in to adopt!

All of our cats/dogs receive vaccinations that are appropriate for the age and health when they are at animal control. We also spay and neuter all of our animals. The adopter is responsible for all vaccinations and medical care after adoption.
