My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Salted Caramel is an adorable one-year old male kitty who was surrendered by his family on April 2, 2024 along with his brother (Java Monster) because they didn't have room to take care of the boys.

Salted Caramel has a white-and-orange tabby short smooth coat, a long ringed tail, and a cute face with golden eyes, an orange tabby mask, a pink nose, and long white whiskers.

This little lovebug has a sweet, easygoing personality. Salted Caramel was quite content to 'sit and stay' in his cage to pose like a model for Kitten Fancy Magazine when we stopped by to take photos on April 6, 2024.

Salted Caramel was given vaccinations, wormer, and flea treatment on April 3, 2024. He weighed 8.8 lbs that day.

Salted Caramel and his brother Java Monster are nearly identical twins, but there are a few subtle differences when you see them side-by-side (thank goodness). Salted has a larger orange tabby mask on his face with orange tabby markings under his left eye .. And his left front leg is entirely white (brother Java has a small patch of orange tabby on his left front leg).

Their family told us that Salted and Java are very friendly. They are good with other cats (as well as dogs) and also with children.

These boys have never been separated since birth, and they have been kept together in a double-wide cage since entering our shelter. We have listed them as a Bonded Pair since we feel that it is in their best interest to be adopted together.

Salted Caramel (and Java Monster) will be neutered in the near future and will soon be ready to find a fabulous home either through adoption or rescue.

Rescue groups may contact our HSOV Feline Rescue Coordinator via email (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net). We can usually help with transportation.

UPDATE: Salted Caramel was neutered on April 16, 2024 and was also given rabies vaccine. He weighed 8.9 lbs that day.

More about this rescue

We are a non-profit shelter giving refuge to homeless and abandoned animals in Washington County Ohio. We strive to make their time here as comfortable as possible. We work very hard with our rescue groups to move our animals quickly and safely. We do this because we work for those who have no voice.

Rescue groups are encouraged to contact our Canine Rescue Coordinator (rescue@hsov.org) or Feline Rescue Coordinator (sharonpaul2@suddenlink.net)
