Nicks is living in a foster home. Please submit an application from our website and/or email dogs@heartlandanimalshelter.org to learn if you are a match!
Nicks is a gorgeous 3 year old black shepherd originally from Florida. Nicks found an amazing adopter who loved her so much, but sadly he passed away unexpectedly and she is now back in our care. We would love to see this special girl find a new perfect person for her super soon!
Like many shepherds, Nicks can be weary of new people and takes a little time to let them in. However, once you are in her circle you are in it for life and she will be ready to shower you with love! For example, our staff went to visit her, we hadn't seen her in almost two years, and she greeted us with hugs and kisses. Nicks is currently in foster care with one of her amazing volunteer friends and here are the cliff notes about her!
-housebroken
-crate-trained for even a full workday
-loves to go on walks
-loves to cuddle but isn't overly clingy
-loves to do enrichment and work on new commands
-she was a tester dog for us at the shelter, and loves to meet new dog friends, but in the home, she prefers to be an only child. She does amazing in doggy daycare!
Nicks' adoption fee is sponsored by a generous donor! This animal is spayed, up to date on core vaccines, and Heartworm negative.
