My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

We saw Hampton's picture on Facebook and knew that he belonged in Dawg Squad. But he was way out in San Bernardino!

There are some amazing people on Facebook. We put out a plea for help and they lined up to help us get Hampton

This is a great little dog. OK he's not so little - he is 75 pounds and 11 months old. He has an English Bulldog /Rottweiler mix. Two of our favorite breeds!!

When we pulled him from the shelter, he had two pretty ugly cherry eyes. Our vet took care of those and while they still are a little bit red and swollen, he's going to look awesome in about three weeks!

Hampton knows some commands walks nicely on a leash and gets along with other dogs. He is an amazing snuggler and loves to climb up on your lap and chill.

Somebody please come and adopt him soon because our Founder is getting very attached and she really does not need another dog.

Additional adoption info

If you find an animal that you are interested in, we do require that you fill out an adoption application. A home check will be done and we ask that all members of the family, animal and human, be present when we bring the new animal to your home. An adoption contract is then signed and a minimum donation is requested. Adoption donation is $350

Please note filling out an application does not guarantee an adoption. Please note we only adopt to Southern California. No out of state adoptions.

“The Adopt-A-Pet system requires that we choose a predominant breed or breed mix for our dogs. Visual breed identification in dogs is unreliable so for most of the dogs we are only guessing at predominant breed or breed mix. We get to know each dog as an individual and will do our best to describe each of our dogs based on personality, not by breed label.”

More about this rescue

The Dawg Squad is working toward a time in Los Angeles when dogs are cared for, when all puppies find loving and generous owners. We rescue unwanted and abandoned dogs, provide them with medical care, rehabilitation and foster homes until caring, adoptive homes can be found. We spay and neuter prospective pets and educate owners about the importance of pet population control.

We make the dream come true, one dog at a time
