My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

*** Rosie is in a foster home. ***

Solid black/smoke, long hair, spayed female, born approx. 6/1/12, #18975

Cats: good solo, may be okay w/ another
Dogs: not a fan
Children: older teens+

Rosie lost the only home she'd known when her people came down with medical issues and could no longer take care of her. She grew up with her sister who passed in November 2023. With a heavy heart, she bid farewell to her old life and is now looking for her true forever-and ever home!

Rose is sweet, calm, and mellow. She loves to be petted and scratched and loves human company. She meows and rubs against your leg for attention, and when she's sitting next to you Rosie will reach out her paw if you forget to keep petting her. Her purring is loud, beautiful, and soothing. She rolls over on her back when she wants a belly rub. She will let her people pick her up briefly and will sit on your lap briefly but more prefers to sit or lie near to or walk around by her human companions. With her long fur, Rosie is very beautiful and will need brushing every day to keep her looking beautiful and her fur unmatted. This is easy to do because she loves sitting next to you and being brushed! (Rosie is currently sporting a lion cut as she came to us very matted.) She will lazily play with wands and jingling toys and an old mouse toy. She uses a slanted scratching box to scratch and stretch. Rosie will hide from strangers but warms up to people with time. She tends to engage with women more than men. Once you gain her trust, she is an ideal kitty for someone who lives alone and would like a loving companion.

Rosie did get along great with her sister, but is not sure about other cats. She met a dog in her previous home and expressed her displeasure so we know she would prefer a household without canines. Older teens would probably be okay.

Be prepared to be swept off your feet by Rosie's beautiful eyes and stunning long fur! Won't you invite her to join your family for the rest of her golden years?
