My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Introducing Frisbee!

The charming 5-year-old Beagle mix weighing 55 lbs, ready to bring endless joy and playfulness into your home! Frisbee is a friendly and sociable guy who simply loves meeting new people. With his wagging tail and boundless energy, he's always ready for a game of fetch with his beloved tennis balls.
A perfect blend of playful and laid-back, Frisbee is the ideal companion for both active adventures and cozy cuddle sessions. Whether he's chasing after his favorite toy or lounging by your side, he's sure to bring a smile to your face.

While Frisbee likes most dogs, he may take some time to get acquainted with new furry friends. With a slow and proper introduction to ensure it's a good match, he'll soon be enjoying playful romps and fun-filled adventures with his canine companions.
If there are children in his forever home, Frisbee would thrive best with kids aged 10 to 13 years old or older. His friendly and gentle nature makes him a wonderful playmate and loyal companion for children of all ages.

Frisbee's future home will be one filled with love, laughter, and cherished moments shared with his adoring family. With his lovable personality and playful spirit, he's sure to become an irreplaceable member of your household.

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
