My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Meet Earth!

The gentle 2-year-old Pitbull mix, weighing 34 lbs, ready to find his place in your heart and home! Earth is a sensitive soul who approaches new experiences with caution. When meeting new people, he may take some time to warm up as he assesses the situation. With patience and understanding, Earth blossoms into a loyal and affectionate companion, eager to share his love with those he trusts.

In his forever home, Earth would thrive best with children aged 10 years and up. With their gentle and considerate nature, older kids can provide the calm and supportive environment Earth needs to feel secure and comfortable.
While Earth may feel uncertain around new dogs, he shows great potential for forming friendships with proper introductions and gradual socialization. With time and guidance, Earth could develop meaningful bonds with canine companions, enriching his life with playful interactions and companionship.

If you're searching for a faithful and loving companion to join your family, Earth is ready to bring his gentle spirit and unwavering loyalty into your life. Together, you can navigate life's adventures with patience, love, and mutual trust.

Call 330-487-0333 ext 226 to arrange a meeting with Earth and take the first step toward welcoming him into your loving home. Let's give Earth the stable and nurturing environment he deserves to thrive and flourish!

Their adoption process

Additional adoption info

All of our adoptable animals are up-to-date on all age appropriate vaccinations, spayed or neutered, de-wormed, de-flea and microchipped before adoptions are finalized. All dogs over six months of age receive a temperament assessment by our Certified Professional Dog Trainer to ensure appropriate placement. Also, many animals in our care receive basic obedience training to improve manners and increase adoptability.

We are currently doing adoptions by appointment only. Please contact us by phone at (234) 212-9843 or email at adoptions@summithumane.org, and an adoption counselor will return your message. They will review our adoption process, answer any questions, and tell you more about the animals currently available for adoption at our shelter and in our foster program. If we have a match for you and your family, an appointment will be scheduled to meet the animal.

Additional questions can be directed to our adoption team at (234) 212-9843.

More about this shelter

Since 1968, the Humane Society of Summit County (HSSC) has been the trusted caretaker and advocate for Summit County’s victims of animal abuse, neglect, and abandonment and stray animals suffering from illness and injury. We employ two full-time Humane Officers who respond to emergency calls, investigate animal cruelty, and, as warranted, prosecute offenders. We protect and care for our community’s abused, discarded, and forgotten animals. We strive every day to rehabilitate our rescued animals, find them great homes, and provide them with bright futures.
