My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Available for our foster to adopt program & best for a home outside the city

Get ready to meet the one and only Marsh - the canine crusader on a mission to rid your yard of anything that moves! This senior Jack Russell mix may be old as dirt and nearly blind, but his spirit is as lively as ever.

If you've ever dreamed of having a bossy little dog to keep your yard in check, Marsh is your guy. He's not just any dog; he's the self-appointed guardian of your turf, ready to chase away squirrels, birds, cats, dogs, leaves, shadows - you name it! With his belly screams at a surprising volume, Marsh ensures that no canine intruder dares to step foot in his territory.

While many dogs enjoy the company of their furry friends, Marsh marches to the beat of his own drum. He believes in a dog-free zone wherever he goes and isn't afraid to voice his opinion. Despite reluctantly coexisting with other dogs, Marsh would prefer to be the one and only pup in your life.

But don't let his tough exterior fool you - Marsh has a soft side too. He loves playing with his humans and his favorite pastime is scattering toys around the house, ensuring there's always fun to be had. And if you give him a nice ear rub, he'll melt into a wiggly, adorable puddle, revealing his sweet loving nature.

Marsh may sound like a handful, but underneath it all, he's a goofy and sweet old man who just wants his boundaries respected. He's ready to thrive in a home with a yard where he can run free and be the king of his castle. Plus, he's got potential for nose work and barn hunt if you're into dog sports.

So, if you're looking for a spicy little guy with a heart of gold, Marsh is your man. Despite his quirks, he's a joy to be around, especially when he's not surrounded by other dogs. With Marsh by your side, you'll have a loyal companion who's always up for an adventure - just as long as it's dog-free!

Waggytail will cover up to 3 sessions with Marsh's current trainer with his adopter.

Vaccinated for rabies, DA2PP, and bordetella. Heartworm negative, and microchipped. Received neuter & dental with us.

To apply for Marshmallow, visit our website (www.waggytailrescue.org) for an adoption application. It is important to fill out an application as soon as possible for consideration, and we require a complete application for you to meet an animal. We are currently unable to respond to general email inquiries as an all-volunteer run rescue. If the animal is on our website, they are still available.

Waggytail Rescue CANNOT guarantee the exact age of any adoptable dog, or final size of any of our adoptable puppies. We rely on the information provided to us by veterinarians, shelters, owner surrenders and other circumstances bringing the dog into our rescue.

STEP 1: Apply!
Download and complete an ADOPTION APPLICATION from www.waggytailrescue.org/adopt-a-waggytail

STEP 2: The Meet and Greet!
We strongly suggest the ALL members of the household come to the meet and greet. STEP 3: Contract and Donation!
Fill out and sign the TRANSFER AGREEMENT.

The DONATION FEE may be paid by Venmo (@WaggytailRescue) or Paypal (waggytailrescue@gmail.com, add $15 processing fee). Please put the name of the dog in the memo section! Electronic payment is preferred!
You may also pay by check (payable to Waggytail Rescue), however processing of adoptions may be delayed by up to 2 weeks.
If your new buddy is not yet neutered, a $100 refundable deposit must be paid at adoption.

Dog Donation Fees

$550 for puppies under 1 year
$450 for dogs 1 to 8 years
$325 for seniors over 9 years of age

Please add an additional $15 when paying by PayPal to cover processing fees.

More about this rescue

Waggytail Rescue is a NYC based animal rescue charity dedicated to the rehabilitation and rehoming of small breed dogs.

We focus on finding permanent placement for animals in urgent circumstances, saving dogs from imminent euthanasia at over-crowded local shelters, West Coast and South East kill shelters.

Founded in 2004, Waggytail Rescue is a registered 501(c)(3) non-profit organization that has rescued over 5000 abandoned dogs and even a few cats and kittens! Through the tireless work of our many volunteers and amazing fosters, we are committed to continuing to find forever homes for New York's littlest strays.
