My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Comet is quite possibly the hunkiest lab boy we have ever seen (we're definitely not biased).  This guy has had THE WORST luck since starting his short little life.

Comet was found in a ditch in northern Indiana by a fellow dog lover.  He wasn't using his left two legs, so she knew something was wrong and contacted our rescue.  Once we got Comet to our vet, we found out he had not one BUT TWO fractured legs, and multiple fractured ribs.  All the breaks had already started to heal, so he had been suffering for awhile.  After a few days in our care, Comet THEN broke with Parvo.  (We weren't kidding about that bad luck).

Despite all the horrible things he has been through, he is THE sweetest boy.  He wags his whole body when he sees you and loves to take a good nibble at your ears when he has the chance!  Oh, and food--no surprise here for you lab-lovers, is a HUGE motivator.

Comet will have his back leg amputated, but in the mean time we are waiting for that front leg to heal as much as it can.  In the long run, we aren't sure what kind of function he will have for that front leg, but right now he loves to use it to swat his foster mama.
