Willie is a 90-pound goofball with a heart as big as he is! This Lab/Anatolian Shepherd mix has the best of both breeds—protective and loyal like an Anatolian, playful and water-loving like a Lab.
Willie adores people and is great with children, though due to his size, we recommend a home with kids age 5 and up. He gets along well with other dogs with slow introductions but can be protective of his food and toys around them. He hasn’t been around cats, but we think he’d be okay with them.
This big guy loves the outdoors—hiking, walking, camping, and car rides are all on his list of favorites. He’s housebroken, uses a doggy door, and is crate trained. Willie has also worked with a trainer and responds well to commands.
True to his Lab side, one of his favorite things is water—he’ll never pass up a chance to splash around! On the Anatolian side, he takes his guarding duties seriously—especially when it comes to keeping coyotes away from his home.
Willie’s favorite part of the day? Cuddling with his humans and resting his big head in your lap for some well-earned head rubs. He’s incredibly loyal and loving, and would thrive either as an only dog or with furry siblings.
To set up a meet and greet or inquire about a dog, please first fill out an application at https://savinghoperescue.org/adopt It doesn`t obligate you, but it is the first step. We don`t get to all of the inquiries but respond to all applications. Thank you for choosing to rescue!
