My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sweet little Welches G and his best friend Sunny D are here waiting to brighten up you life!

Welches Grape Juice came in to SPCA care from a property with over 200 cats. This boy can't wait to find his forever home and experienced the spoiled life! Welches G is a little shy at first - which makes a lot of sense considering such a big change. But it takes no time at all for this little guy to warm up and start rolling around, drooling for pets. Welches G is a very affectionate boy, but he would like a quieter paced home to ease into his new life. Welches G would love to go to a home with with his friend Sunny D. He feels so much comfortable and playful with Sunny D around. Due to their prior exposure to Calicivirus, these two should not go into a home with an existing cat. Adopters should anticipate lots of play, toys, and of course a new cuddle buddy. Welches G has likely never been around dogs, and would need a slow/controlled introduction to any canine companions.

If you are interested in these sweet guys but want to learn more, fill out an application online OR drop in Tuesday-Sunday from 12pm-3pm to say hi!

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
