My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

Sunny D is here to brighten your day, and his friend Welches G to sweeten you up.

This little ray of sunshine literally cannot wait to find his forever home, and he won't stop asking us when he's getting adopted! This boy is CHATTY, and loves to chirp and chat and tell you all about himself. He's an incredibly affectionate cat who was surrendered to us from a home up North with over 200 cats! Sunny D has a new lease on life and wants to go home already! This young boy is active, and his adoptive home should anticipate having lots of fun things for him to do to keep busy (toys, scratchers, interactive play). Sunny D would love to go to a home with his friend Welches G. Due to their prior exposure to Calicivirus, these cats shouldn't go into a home with existing cats. We are unsure if he has ever encountered a dog, so his comfort of living with a canine companion would have to be determined.

These sweet tuxedo men can't wait to meet you! Drop in to meet Sunny D and Welches G from 12pm-3pm daily (except Mondays) or fill out an application online.

The BC SPCA is a non-profit organization dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for domestic, farm and wild animals in British Columbia. Through its locations and operations across the province the BC SPCA provides emergency medical care and sheltering for more than 37,000 animals each year. The society also conducts more than 4,600 cruelty investigations and provides a wide range of advocacy and education programs for domestic, farm and wild animals through its Provincial Office.

Our mission, vision and charter is at the heart of all we do to rescue, protect and care for animals. It is also the driving force behind our animal welfare and education programs.

Our Charter:

The BC SPCA Charter is the foundation that guides the work we do:

Whereas:

The world is inhabited by many species sharing a common ecosystem of air, earth, and water. We recognize and value our interconnectedness with all animals.

Therefore:

The BC Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals is dedicated to protecting and enhancing the quality of life for the animals of the world we share.

We pledge our energies to inspire and mobilize society to create a world in which all animals, who depend on humans for their well-being, experience, as a minimum, five essential freedoms:

1. Freedom from hunger and thirst

2. Freedom from pain, injury, and disease

3. Freedom from distress

4. Freedom from discomfort

5. Freedom to express behaviours that promote well-being.
