Walker von Welzow is a stunning larger sized 4-5 year old long haireed German Shepherd. A big, sweet and friendly boy, Walker has a happy, playful vibe and loves to be petted all over. He'll extend a paw and even gives kisses. He is looking for an active lifestyle, maybe with another dog. He already knows a list of commands (sit, down and paw), and takes his treats gently. At walk time, Walker’s eager to explore his world. He meets other dogs well, whether on a walk or in his playgroups. He is happy, ready to socialize and loves running around and exploring the grounds at doggy playtime. (He's a no for cats.) Come soon if you want a big happy floof in your life!

Based on our experience, Westside's current thinking is to usually match first-time shepherd owners with a mix versus a purebred shepherd. Mixes are "softer" and somewhat more malleable. Exceptions can be made, however, for first-time adopters who show the confidence and leadership tendencies that purebreds will respect and respond to. Counselors have to use good judgment in assessing the attributes of the adopter, as well as of the dog. If you have doubts, get a second opinion from Robin or another experienced counselor.

Upon receipt of your application, a Westside adoption counselor will contact you.We do aerial home checks and you may be asked to supply pictures as well as arranging for a home visit prior to adoption.
Adoption fees vary with each dog and typically range from $150 to $500. They are set, taking into account the dog's age, training level, temperament, if they’re newly arrived, medical condition(s) (if any) and other factors. Adoption fees are used not only to rescue and place the dog you are personally adopting, but to aid in the future rescue and rehabilitation of other deserving dogs. Adoption fees are necessary; without fees, our rescue efforts would quickly come to an end. The adoption fee includes spay/neuter, microchip, and up-to-date vaccinations.
