My story

Here's what the humans have to say about me:

This blue-eyed beauty, Ginny (aka Gin or Gimli) is all about making sure you are happy by throwing the ball or frisbee for her to bring back to you. She is fast and athletic, loves walks, sniffing around, house trained, crate trained, uses the doggie door and is lovely on the leash. Gimli was surrendered to a local shelter for resource guarding her person from the other dog in the home. Saying that she was absolutely terrified in the shelter is an understatement. This poor girl was almost completely shut down but she is now in a home with multiple dogs. At first she was on good behavior but as she’s grown more comfortable, she’s been picking fights so she would do best as an only dog in the home. Gin needs direction, understanding, and a herding breed-experienced owner. She is a 3 y/o Australian Shepherd/ Corgi weighing approx 35#. She has not been tested with cats or kids but her previous owner said she was good with cats and older respectful kids. Gin requires a fenced yard and an active experienced owner. Gin also has a great "off" switch. If interested in meeting Gin the first step is to complete our meet and greet application at https://www.corgisandfriends.com/forms We require the application, home and reference check, and meet with everyone in the home. Gin is spayed, utd on vaccs, chipped, and HW-. Her adoption fee is $400 and we do not adopt outside of Colorado.

More about this rescue

CO Corgis and Friends is a 501 c3 dog Rescue (specializing in Corgis and other lowrider breeds) that was formed in late 2019 by a group of Corgi loving people who not only love and understand the Corgi breed, but love all other dogs as well. The founding members have over 100+ years of experience owning Corgis and 50+ years in Rescue. It is our pleasure to help homeless dogs in need, help struggling owners rehome their pets, and offer advice on training issues typical of this herding breed. Please feel free to contact us to see if we can help!
Our mission is to help find Corgis and other breeds loving forever homes, share our knowledge of the Corgi breed through outreach and education, help reduce the pet population by promoting spay/neuter, and educating the community about responsible pet care and relationships.
