"He's so sweet!" "I just love him." "He was such a good boy for our walk/bath/car ride." That's what we've heard multiple times from staff and volunteers in the short time Koba has been with us. If enough people say it, it's probably true! Koba IS a sweet gentleman, even if he's had a bit of a rough go lately.
This 7-ish-year-old husky mix went on quite the day-plus-long adventure recently, with multiple people trying to get him to safety. If he seemed a little agitated that day, he apologizes! He was obviously very scared and confused, being a lost older guy after all. Turns out he had been rehomed right before that, so he really didn't know what was going on. But, it took him no time at all to decompress once he was safe. He even fell asleep on the shoulder of the kind person who drove him here, and it's been smiles and tailwags from then on. When he knows where he's laying his head at night and that he'll get a next meal, he's quite the mellow, affectionate, well-behaved dude. He's good with people of all ages, kids, dogs and cats. He even lived previously with a cat, who he was fine with, but slow introductions will be key. Koba is neutered, microchipped and up to date on vaccines.

We are passionate about pairing animals in need with loving families who would best suit their individual needs. NOTE: You do not have to apply for a specific animal on your application. You can submit it as a "pre-application" for a certain size, age or breed of animal, and if approved, we can contact you if a possible match arrives at the shelter.
