A note to those looking at CPR. We have no perfect dogs - but many of our dogs have proven to be perfect for a certain someone. Our job is to find those someone's. Our most successful adopters come to CPR not because they want a dog. They come to us because they want to give a dog a home. We urge all of our potential adopters not to fall in love with a picture. While we like to know what you like in looks, a dog is more than a pretty face. Our goal is to match you with the best possible pet for you and your home. We want to create furever families.

What kind of home would be best for me? Teddy is a big guy who simply loves people. He's great with both men and women as well. Based on his demeanor, we believe he is well suited to a home with children over 5. Teddy is equal parts playful and chill. While he likes to chill, he would prefer his humans are around with him for most, if not all, of the day. Teddy is great with other dogs and would love another large, active dog in the home. If you have a good plan for socialization on a regular basis, he could be happy as your only dog and constant companion.
What is my personality like? Teddy was found as a stray, wandering the streets with his buddy Snickers. Whatever life was in the past, it hasn't damaged this beautiful boy's zest for life and love for people. Some would label Teddy a gentle giant, but he's just Teddy. We find Teddy to be very calm and gentle but playful This dude is super chill, calm, gentle and sweet yet playful. Teddy is just the perfect dog for any adopter. He adjusted quickly to being here and will do so with your home as well. Teddy loves dogs, so he'd be happy if you already have a dog that could be his canine buddy. We don't know how he is with cats.
Teddy walks on a leash, but some refresher training can't hurt. Teddy also needs to be taught basic commands like sit, stay, down, come, and the like. He responds well to both treats and affection so use them both in his training. Teddy longs for a forever home with a family that will provide him with the playtime he needs, the chill time he demands, and the loving he deserves. In return you'll receive a loving and devoted family member who will enrich your life. It's a win-win situation. So, come meet Teddy and be a winner today.
How do I act when I first meet new people? Teddy has zero fear or stranger danger. He will approach anyone immediately to ask for pets, scratches, treats and playtime.
Other tips and tidbits: Teddy was found as a stray so we have absolutely no history on him. Based on his overall health and condition, our veterinary partner has estimated he is 2 years old. We celebrate Teddy's birth date as 4/5/2022.
House trained? Dogs can be house trained if they are in the right environment and are allowed to follow a schedule if a physical reason doesn't keep them from being trained. A dog house trained in my home may not be in yours. We will help you teach your new dog this necessary skill and based on your schedule.
Please note - we do not ship dogs. If you are interested in adopting, please take a look at the distance between the foster home location and your location and make sure you are willing to make that trip. Most of our dogs are at our farm in Pacolet, South Carolina.

Please note that when screening applications, we look at the entire home and then make suggestions based on what would be a good fit for your home. You are not being screened for a specific dog although we are looking to see what type of dog interests you - poodles or non poodles, color, age, etc. Others here may be a better fit for you. It is very difficult to get to know a living animal from a picture and a short description. Since we are constantly getting in new dogs, this may be a dog not in our listings yet. We want you to be very happy with your new companion and will make suggestions based on what you tell us about you.
